Lakers-Celtics

So I went to the game tonight. Kobe was pretty sic. People actually chanted "M-V-P" and "KOBE"...in Boston...Red Auerbach must be rolling in his grave.
Here's a video of little men falling from the sky.

I ran out of material

It's been a couple of weeks since I last updated my 3 readers. A couple of highlights:
- I went ice skating for the first time at the Frog Ponds in Boston Common. I haven't even roller skating sine Middle School.
- It hit below zero (with the wind chill) last week. It wasn't that bad actually.
- I went to a crepe party last night. Better quality that the ones available at IHOP.

Overall, hard to believe I've been here 4 weeks! The next couple of weeks will be busy as I look for housing and that little thing called a job.

Public Relations and Infectious Diseases

Those were my first two job assignments. I'm actually work as a temp until something more stable turns up. But in the meantime, it should be interesting going to a different job site everyday.
One good thing about living in Boston is that I'm experiencing things I would have never done otherwise. Example: Hearing a Bluegrass version of a Journey song.

Here's where I work...

No, not really. It's the Church of Scientology. I just thought it was a nice looking building. If you look closely, you might see TomKat in the entrance...

Why would you want to leave California?

I've actually had some people ask me this question. They kind of look at me as if I'm crazy. It's funny how some people have this notion of California being a land of flowing with milk and honey; where there's a movie star on every corner and everyone goes to the beach with their lattes. And while 75 degree weather in January is nice, I kind of need to see how the other side lives. Some people live and die by a specific flavor of ice cream. Mine's strawberry. I always order strawberry. It's my vanilla. But you can't have it everyday. So I guess Boston is my cookies n' cream.
On a more serious note...I've been adjusting well here. El Niño has provided abnormally warmer weather that is freaking out the locals. I'd like to think I brought some of the So Cal weather here. Anyway, until I get a job, I probably will feel more like a resident than just a visitor. Speaking of which, my job search is progressing. The staffing agency I'm going through actually works with a lot of the local universities and non-profits. I have an interview today so hopefully that goes well. Ok, until next time...

The Ivy-League's finest...

So I went to my first Division I-A College Basketball game: Harvard vs. Dartmouth. It was an away game so we made a trip to New Hampshire with someone Mike and I just met last night at a Folk Music Concert. Our new friend Maria wanted us to go because she was taking a hard-core Harvard Basketball fan as a favor. After we picked up the starting point guard's older brother at the airport (he flew from LA to see him play), we made the 2 hour trip. We had dinner at a place called Inspired Burritos because the entire town of Dartmouth shuts down at 6PM on a Saturday night. Sadly, the Harvard Crimson blew a double-digit lead and lost in OT. You probably won't find highlights on Sportscenter. True story...

On the second day of the new year...

A few observations:
1) Boise State-Oklahoma: No words to describe it. I almost cried. The bad thing about living on the East Coast is that a lot of games end at like midnight or as in the case last night, close to 1AM. Alas, it seems my beloved Lakers will be playing most of their nationally televised games at 10:30PM.
2) Outlet stores are the best, Specifically, the Eddie Bauer store. I pretty much completed my winter wardrobe. Is it ok for a guy to admit he has a wardrobe?
3) I was supposed to meet with the staffing agency today but had to reschedule because I think I sprained my knee pulled a muscle. Note: never dance on New Year's with snow/ice shoes. Or at least don't try jumping up and down a lot.

Well, I look forward to getting this New Year up and running. I hope everyone has a great 2007.
